Our friend was suddenly called out to work just before our arrival in Bangalore. So we booked into the Raddison Blu hotel for two nights and planned our activities. First of all must say the hotel was superb. Such friendly efficient staff. First class.
We decided we needed a quieter day so sorted a out trip to the Lal Bagh gardens. Off we set walking slowly around the whole park, taking three hours, which very good. There was a huge tree aged over 200 years old? It was massive. Got involved in the usual school children day trips. Lots of “Hi” and “How are you”. Teachers asking for a photo with them all. Think it’s the grey (now bleached whit with the sun) hair. I do stand out a bit in this very dark hair world.
We then went off to see The Bull temple. Didn’t really go for that as two Bulls were dressed up and exploited also so much rubbish. Lots of beggars also. It was interesting to see the stone bull in the temple and read the history. They have a Ground nut festival every year where people from all villages near and far travel to this temple. Fascinating world of the Hindi religion. Then off to one of our favourite places a market. Gandhi Market flower market. There were also lots of other items as well. Great fun mixing with the local crowds and enjoying the chaos, colours and conversations.
Even though we missed our friend we still had a good time. Quite like Bangalore with all its flowers and open spaces. Nothing like we expected.
Weather now starting to go colder so back to hotel and the warm. Also get ready to fly to Delhi and meet up with friends there. Another adventure awaits. 👍😎☀️
